Trapped.

I felt trapped. I didn’t know what to do or who I could tell, I was stuck trapped in the middle of investigation on my first day as super intendant. Detective Doyle walked me back to my car and said he would keep me posted. A rookie whose name I am going to make my priority to learn asked me if I was ok? Or needed a lift, I decided nobody used to be nice to me before so why not so I just said ‘’I’m fine and yes that would be lovely but you best clear it with your supervisor ‘’ he looked at me and his face dropped I asked him what was the matter? He said ‘’he’ll never let me go’’ so I just said ‘’go over there and say I said you are to drive me back to the office as a matter of urgency’’ he just looked at me in amazement he responded ‘’really?’’ I just looked at him and said ‘’go on then’’. No one ever gave me a break and this would have been my dream, I am going to change how we are treat with in the force starting with the rookies.

As we were driving back to the office when we both started pointing out people that could be arrested I was thinking finally someone who thinks the same as me and doesn’t just call it a stupid habit. I think we got 42 between us in a 45 minute drive. We walked to reception and he turned to me and said ‘’should I go back now?’’ I just said ‘’they’ll manage for a few hours’’ I found out my office was on the 13th floor we got in the lift I think he was still amazed I asked him to stay. I we got to my office I was thinking my very own office all mine I opened the door and all the expectations built up… all that hope… all the ideas of what it will look like and I hated it, it was black and shiny, shiny who gives a cop a shiny office me + shiny = messy. So I sat down and the rookie was still in the door way I said to him he had to come and sit down and that was an order and he did as he was told.

I sat there at my horrible shiny polished black desk I was all to clean, so I got out a note book and planed how to make my office ‘normal’ I started a list and first on my list was finger prints. I stood up walked over to the glass and pressed my hands on the cold hard glass and continued around the room making sure everything had at least a few finger prints on. I turned to the rookie how now looked like someone has just walked in here and shoot everything to pieces and said ‘’what, it was too clean, now I think we should leave before cleaning get here.’’

We walled to my car and I drove him home we got to his house and he turned to me and said ‘’thanks for today it was brilliant!’’ he was about to close the door when just said ‘’53’’ I managed 56 so I just yelled ‘’56’’ I saw him walk up his long path and into his house trying to work out what he had missed.

I drove home. When I got home I walked to the door I was about to put my key in the door and I heard something move, it sounded like someone was sweeping what do I do? do I burst in? I have my gun or do I try and see who it is? Then I started to think is the key still in the planter? I took the planter, went behind my car and pushed my hand through the soil, where was my spare key my get home drunk and can’t find key key? That was it! I had a moment of weakness and a shot of adrenaline that was it who dears to break in to my house?!

I stood up, dusted the soil off me even though I still looked like I just rolled around in the soil, got out my gun pulled the loader back, went to my door, pushed the door with all the force I could summon I was about to shoot. My house looked like a crime scene covered in blood in circular movements like when someone tries to clean it up… then sitting there on the sofa was Jack Castle my ex-boyfriend holding a gun… and covered in blood.

Silence

I am dyslexic so give me break please, i have never wrote a story before so please give it a read and tell me what you think, and yes if anyone makes the connection this is based very loosely on the Chicago code. I know it is very badly puncuated sorry!

Silence

Silence, was all I heard the moment I woke up. The peacefulness of the silence was comforting, I wanted to absorb every minute of it I could. As today was my first day as super intendant, the first female super intendant in Chicago.

I was eventually ready to leave, I left the house turned the key in the door, then suddenly i had that feeling t when you forget something, I brushed it off telling myself it’s just nerves. I got to my car pressed the ‘open’ button on the keys then I remembered my gun! How could I forget my gun? Which cop forgets their gun? Then I thought I’m the new super intendant of Chicago how to day goes it up to me.

I got my gun from the bottom of my sock draw, then got my amumision from my bed side table then checked I still had my car keys and put everything in my bag. Then I steddyed myself, walked down stairs closed the door behind me, checked it was locked then walked to my car. I got in my car switched my radio on to 101.9 FM, it was at this moment when the radio said ‘’top head line body found in garbage bin’’ it was at this moment I decided I would do my first check in.

I rang through to control to ask for the details as the person picked up the phone they said '‘good morning super intendant'' I had never really seemed real until this point. I got the details put them in to the satnav and drove, I was doing better today only 23 people were in my opinion slipping through net and could have been arrested on the 40 minute drive to the crime scene which I didn’t know the name of as I am still getting used to Chicago, having never lived here before.

I arrived at the crime scene it was too sunny for me so down when my shades. I got out my car took the gun from my bag once I found it and placed it in my holder. I felt it click in to the holder it felt like everyone could hear it because at that moment everyone looked round, it felt like I was on a dark stage and the spot light had just been placed on me.

I walked over to the body that had been wrapped in bin bags and sealed with sliver tape, not the most common way to dispose of a body I thought. I looked at the face it hit me then that Callum hadn’t been home in a few days I asked if they had an ID for the john doe and then at that moment my world came crashing down in front of me as senor deceive Jones said the word that were like a fatal blow to my heart ‘’yes the john doe is Callum Doyal.’’ At this stage I didn’t know what to do apart from say Cullum’s name over and over again in my head, nobody knew we were together.

RANT! many applogies!

This blog post has not title as I do not know what to give it…

When I was little I was assessed for Dyslexia and they said I was not phonically aware so I thought nothing of it I was about 4 when I was assessed, so I went through the infants and secondary and got some help but the problems started when I went to my secondary school.

When I was going into year 7 my dad had a meeting with the coordinator for spelling problems and stuff and she said I would need help and I would get it and I got no help at all!

Now I am in year 10 I have been using a Crossbow Reading ruler science I was about 6 and I asked would I be able to use it in an exam and I was told you better check with the coordinator so I did and she said it was fine and this is where I am quite annoyed SHE DID NOT EVEN KNOW I HAD ANY SPELLING PROBLEMS so she asked if I wanted testing again so I got tested and my reading, spelling and comprehension.

The average for my ages is 85%

The reading there was 5 sections and I skipped at least 3 and that came back 98% out of 100 HOW???

The spelling was the first 20 most common words and spelt at least 6 wrong and that came back at 85% HOW??? I can remember I spelt circle and reach like this cricel and rech that’s not normal is it?

The comprehension I must of got about 10ish wrong out of 40 and that came back at about 87% how is that normal?

So I decided to do some digging on the internet and I found Dyslexia Action and I got a few leaflets one of the leaflets has a check list that is as follows:

1. Is your child bright in some subject and has a block in others?

2. Are they a slow reader?

3. Does anyone in the family have a similar problem?

4. Do they have difficulty following a list?

5. Were they a late talker?

6. Do they have problems with spelling?

7. Poor handwriting?

8. Put figures or letters the wrong way round?

9. Difficulty understanding time and tense?

10. Do they get left and right confused?

11. Do they answer questions orally and then have problems righting them down?

12. Poor sense of rhyme?

13. Do they have difficulty taking notes or copying from the board?

And 1,2,3,4,6,8,10,11,13 all apply to me and my school think there is nothing wrong me at all?

Right sorry rant over had a bad week!

I had a brace once...

Well in a few weeks i will be getting ready for the long journey of braces. I'm not that scared I'm more concerned about what colours to get on my first appointment. Well the other week i had to go for the 'what were going to do to you' meetings with the orthodontist, they give you the whole you need to brush more and show you braces and the treatment plan [basically the longest one humanly possible so they can the most money out the NHS], so apparently if i tolerate it I'm looking at about a year to 18 months.

Many of my friends have had braces
and have told me things that have happened to them [thanks for the horror stories!] so i am prepared i have bought three little boxes of wax which are so lovely i got two mint scented ones and a chocolate one, i also got two packs of orthosil and some comfort covers to stop my braces hurting and cutting the sides of my cheeks.

Well this isn't my first brace i have had i was told my bite was awful and i need this fixed brace which filled the top part of my mouth leaving unable to eat and breath properly it was called the Quad helix and that one lasted a whole four day. Well they would of had to take it out because of my MIR scan and holiday to Slovakia and the food would of been a nightmare with it in.
When I get my brace i am going to be very sad no chewing gum, no sticky food, no fizzy pop or energy drink [never going to happen], no pizza and i can't bite into anything properly oh joy.

My knee! is better after two years of pain!

Sorry have been away for a while had loads of knee problems it has been everything from soft tissue to a broken ACL! Got a brilliant surgeon who MIR scanned my knee with in a two days got an appointment to review the scan with in two weeks! He did the whole new set of tests and said you haven't broke your ACL and you haven't got a meniscus tare! which was when he popped the question...
What are you doing tomorrow? my response was nothing why??? he said i want to do key hole and if they is anything wrong I'll fix it there and then!
So got to the ward at 8am where a nurse said they want to take you down in about 30minuets you first on his list!
Turn out my meniscus had torn but had grown the wrong way leaving me with a 'flappy' bit (please see picture!) which was getting cort on where the knee joins.

While learning to crochet my friend who is also a skier asked me if i had heard the song 'my friends a pro' by the USA winter Olympic team and i hadn't so she showed me it and now i am in love with it! The song starts about 0:50!
[i do not own this video i have no association with team USA, and contains mild language]
